I noticed that on the list some of my favorite veggies & fruits are not listed.. string beans, cauliflower, blackberries, strawberries. does this mean we should not have these in the first week?
Anitra, heck no you can have all of the above. Of course, the fruit in the morning as directed. You are coming in with carb cycling, correct? That means you only have a serving of fruit in the morning 3 times a week on your hardest workout days. One of the 3 days also has to be the day you have your cheat meal. Hope that is clear.

For 12 week challenge people here is the program in a nutshell... 3 days of high carbs and 4 days of low carbs... your cheat meal day MUST be a high carb day (obviously).
Men: High Carb Days: 3.5 containers of protein 3 containers of carbs 50 grams of fat 2 fruits
Men: Low Carb Days: 3.5 containers of protein 1 container of carbs 50 grams of fat 1 fruit
Women: High Carbs Days: 3 containers of protein 2 containers of carbs 40 grams of fat 1 fruit
Women: Low Carb Days: 3 containers of protein 1 container of carbs 40 grams of fat No fruit
Hi Jody, thanks for the feedback. I am planning a low carb day tomorrow. any links to recipes, the link I got in the email only goes to the weight lifting sight. I haven't gotten the dream protein yet, I'm guessing this could be a breakfast on low carb days?
Anitra, i will check with Tom to see if he knows of any sites for recipes. What you could do is look through the blogs past and present to get ideas from the other clients. Dream protein is a good meal substitute. I will always prefer food to protein shakes but it is very convenient. I use them myself. To answer your question yes it could be a good breakfast on a low carb day. On a high carb day you could add a bananna to it with almond butter and a teaspoon unsweetened hershey cocoa powder. Yummy!
Terry, green tea does not count towards your water intake. Green tea is a diuretic (sp?) which means if you drink a cup you are actually in a water deficit. This is true of any caffeinated beverage.
Terri - green tea has caffeine which Jody describes, but compared to coffee very little (green tea less than 30 mg where coffee can have 100-200 mg depending on how it is prepared)... drink plenty of green tea throughout the day and you will be rewarded, but try not to count it as part of your water intake. I drink about 60-70 ounces of green or white tea per day.

Supposed to have a gallon of water, is that strictly water or does green tea count towards the daily amount?
