Women, friday day 5 , women all posts here today

I am amazed by all of you. You are following the plan almost perfectly. Make sure you read Tom's entries. He has posted some great information. Some of you may be having a cheat meal tonight. Enjoy. You deserve it! Your body needs it.

    7:30 2 scoops dream protein, bananna, 2Tbsp almond butter

    10:30 cajun grilled chicken, half of a container of steel cut oats

    1:30 chicken salad saflower mayo, half of a container of steel cut oats

    Back workout

    4:30 half of a container of grilled tuna, spinach with balsamic vinegar, container of cucumber.

    8:00 Tavolo for my cheat meal will post later. Plan on smart dinner, 2 glasses of wine and dessert.

    Here is my food for today:
    6:30 3 egg whites 1 yolk scrambled 1/2 c. oatmeal, 1/8 c. walnuts 10 FG apple
    8:15-9:15 full body lifting
    10:30 1/2 c. chicken, 1/2 swt potato/broccoli
    ckn cooked with peanut satay 2.25 gr fat for 1/2 c.
    1:30 e bread/1tblsp almond butter 8 FG/ 1/2 cont ckn not with satay/ container cukes
    3:30 1/2 c. flounder/1/2 swt potato/brocc
    6:30 1/2 cont salmon/brocc/cukes/romaine with 1/2 tbsp olive oil and lemon
    9:30 protein shake
    I will fit in a walk today.

    Also Jody--for my travel days at the airport, any suggestions on food that would travel well and I can get past security? I know nuts, I am buying a shaker cup for protein drink, veggies, any suggestions would be helpful. :-)

  3. Donna, nice day! Glad to see you will be getting a walk in addition to an upper body workout this morning. I had to travel 1 week before our Oct competition. My sister in Oregon got married. I bought nuts, grilled chicken and salad after I went through security. If packed nutracore shakes( they have no liquid in them you add water before drinking) raw veggies and grilled fish in a cooler bag that i used as a my carry-on, as well. I was given no problem going through security. But seeing that you look sort of like a terrorist you may not be allowed through. Ha ha.

  4. Thanks Jody, yeah I get stopped ALL the time! One more question I like "Apple Flaxcake"--
    2 tblsp water
    1 egg
    3 tblspoons milled flaxseed
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    2 tblsp shredded apple

    mix togeather, cook like a pancake and you have a "flaxcake"

    so milled flaxseed for 3tblsp is 13 1/2 gr fat, 12 g carb and 9 gr protein, can I have this? I would guess I would add more protein and finish the apple, or do I also need a carb? I am ok if you say no good-I realize fat is a bit high.

  6. Donna, consider the flaxcakes a fat but keep in mind the carbs (don't finish the apple)Protein not worried about at all. Sound really tasty!

    and it keep exiting

    7am - coffee
    8 am - protein shake with greens
    9 am - small apple and 5 almonds
    10 - 1 hr boxing
    11:15 - 1/2 GF oatmeal
    12 pm - 2 slided cukes and 1 yellow pepper
    1:30 pm - 1/2 container egg salad
    4pm - 1/4 bag snap peas /10 almonds
    7pm - large chopped salad with oil (2 tbsp) vinegar/6 oz ground turkey mushrms sauteed in 2 tablesoon canola oil/1/2 container sweet potatoe
    12 poland spring sport bottles - my usual daily intake of water fyi

  11. So my prediction was right, I feel like shit from an onset of a cold, my legs and ass hurt from all the lunges and squats I did yesterday but my interview went well (I think).

    Because I didn't feel well, I was not in the mood to eat but I forced myself to try and get in the required nutrition.

    8:45 Lots of Meditation before the interview along with a Bananna

    11:00 1/2 container of egg salad (7 whites, 2 yolks, 2 tbsp Smart Balance Mayo 4g fat per tbsp - not familiar with Wegmans, was very overwhelmed when I went shopping there - next I will find the required mayo) Container of mashed sweet potatoes

    3:00 Spinach and field greens w/purple onion and balsamic vin (no oil). 1/2 container turkey breast

    5:30 container sweet potatoe mash, 1/2 container salmon and brussell sprouts

    9 or 10ish will be a Protein shake (2 scoops)

    Bag of veggies throughout the afternoon.

    Jody, hopefully you enjoyed your cheat meal and the wine was enjoyable. I am going through withdrawls right now cause Pinot Gregio sounds sooo good right about now. But I will wait for my cheat meal on Mothers Day so I can have a sensable meal 3 glasses of wine and skip the dessert (LOL). NOT the homemade cheesecake from my neighbor has my name written all over it. My husband has been so kind and not even delved into it.

    Anywhoo that is my story of the day. Everyone enjoy your weekend.

    Here is my intake for the day:

    6:30 a.m. container of red grapes, 1 cup of coffee

    8:30 a.m. protein shake 1scoop of each 1 tbsp almond butter (YES I LOVE IT WAY BETTER THAN MILK) mixed with water

    10:15 11:15 kickboxing class

    11:45 3 scrambled egg whites 1 slice ezekial toast

    2:45 1 container of water packed tuna with 1 tbsp lite safflower mayo 1 slice ezekial bread

    steamed broccoli in between

    5:45 1 container barilla plus with pesto 1 container steamed shrimp with pesto

    8:45 protein shake 1 scoop greens/protein 1 tbsp almond butter mixed with water

    lot of water throughout the day

    So far I feel really great..my muffin top (my tummy that is) feels flatter. Jody, my scale is off about 6 pounds from the gym scale..lighter that is, should I go by my home scale before my cheat meal on Sunday? I have a rough idea what I weigh on my scale, I guess if it went down on my scale it went down on yours right?
    If our cheat meal is Sunday for dinner, should we stay consistent throughout the morning and just have that one "cheat item"

    Today went a little wrong for me. I ate breakfast at 8:45 (did not go to work today slep in)
    1 scoop of choclate dream protein with water
    1/2 slice E. Bread with almond butter and organic jelly
    1 banana
    cup of coffee with fat free cremora
    Her comes the problem I could not eat again unti 3:00. I had my daughter in the emergency room than to an ear, nose and throat docter. She broke her nose, dancing. A hair line fracture,we didn't get home till three. I then ate
    1 container of tuna with celery and 1 tblsp safflower.
    2 wasa crackers
    water
    1/2 container of fingerland potatoes
    5:30 2 handfuls of raw carrots
    8:00 1 container of steak and steamed asparagus
    water
    Feling much better by the way. I think I needed to sleep past 5 am Today was that day. :)

  20. Jan, hi girl. Ok lets deal with the chocolate craving first. Have your cheat meal tomorrow and have a nice big piece of chocolate cake under chocolate chocolate chip double brownie icecream with chocolate sprinkles and a chocolate martini!

    Not enough protein my dearest. You only had 1 full serving of carbs. Please, try not to have your carbs after 6. You did make a lot of really good choices. I know this isn't easy for you, You're doing great!

  21. Jody -- problem is that thursday night was my cheat meal - i had two glasses of sake and a bite of nates choc cake dessert. So i dont want to cheat again.
    ALSO am i not understanding the math;

    My Carbs (you said this was high in carbs) were my shake in the am /1/2 container sweet pot and 1/2 container of GF oatmeal - isnt that enough? what should i add?

    My protein - 1/2 container of egg salad / 1/2 container sauteed ground turkey mixture - protein shake - isnt this almost enough? what should i add?

    would it be ok if i had another shake at night? or a different brand shake? i think that might help my sweet cravings at night - lmk that you think
    i know no carbs after 6 - but i didnt get home in time to eat by 6. It was only 7pm --JEEZ!

  22. I keep forgetting about that shake. I wouldn't even care if you went a bit over with the protein. Truthfully i think six is starting to get late to have carbs. This is your least active time of the day. I would have gone without and started fresh the next day. Keep your containers with you so that doesn't happen again. There are cooler bags that hold quite a few of those containers. Ill ask Tom where he got his. I just use a insullated lunch bag.

    Start researching a new shake. I think its a great alternative for a sweet dessert.

  23. Friday for me>>> big challenge but proud of myself overall. I had client meetings and went to the city for a show with Craig and the kids. Craig is tremendous support for me and is following along with the guys program so that this can be a success for both of us. AWESOME HUBBY!!

    8:00am: 6 oz. oatmeal with rasberries and 1/4 scoop of protein powder.

    10:30am: 4 egg whites and spinach

    12:30pm: 2/3 container chicken (I approximate if I'm out for lunch and I am very specific on ordering instructions) on a bed of lettuce. Balsamic and oil on the side... abt. 1 tbsp of oil:

    3:30pm: 1/2 container sweet potato, 1 slice Ezekial with 2 tbsp pb and a little cocoa sprinkled on top (love that cocoa -should this be any fat... I notice on the container that it says .5g fat for a tbsp)

    While driving into the city...

    5:30pm: 1 container Chicken (recipe with 1 tbsp pb)

    11:00pm: 1 scoop dream powder shake

    Too low on fat today... I feel fine though.

    rest of the morning just water (felling bloated ps: 1st day of my period, this ain't a good day for me)

    12:15pm 1 cont. grilled chicken + vegetable mix (brocolli+sweet peas+carrots)

    afternoon mixed nuts and lots of water

    6:50pm 1 cont. tuna salad (tuna in water + safflower mayo)

  25. Dawn, pick up flax seed pills today. 5 fish oils and 5 flax seed oil pills (1200mgea) Then figure out where you're going to get the remainder of your fat from. Protein was good carbs low. You missed a container of carbs.

  27. Marylee, fats look a bit low. I am estimating around 21g. Unless, the eggs were 3 whole eggs then you were right on.

    As far as your cheat meal day. Eat normal all day.

    That is a pretty big discrepency with the scales. Were you aware that your scale was off? Or are you assuming because you were so different on ours? I guess the important thing is for you to always use the same scale.

  28. Maryann, perfect day. Very good to do your cardio first thing in the morning. You burn stored fat that way. Did you wait around forty five minutes to an hour before eating. Even better if you did. Excellent. Enjoy your cheat meal.

  30. Ella your a supa star! Really good day. Glad to see your doing your cardio first thing in the morning and waiting 45 minutes to eat. Thats perfect. You'll burn more fat that way.
    Don't forget to weigh yourself in first thing in the morning on your cheat meal day.

  31. Val, you only had around 10 grams of fat for the day. Because you had beef twice it i will let it go but you should watch that. Also i would like to see you cut up cucumbers or another vegetable of your choice and put them into the containers. This way you wont be grabbing for the cherry tomatoes, which are a fruit.

    Please, weigh yourself the morning of your cheat meal day.

    Ok, I can see you tried your best considering the situation. Everything was a little low. Maybe a protein shake with almond butter at the end of the night would have been a good idea. Everything (besides the crackers) was a healthy choice.

  33. Karen, really good job overall since you were in the city for a show. Don't forget you can throw a couple of yolks in your eggs for added fat. Know ahead of time what you will be eating for the day. This way that wont happen to you again. Still i am very impressed!

  34. Nina, ok at least you realize it was a bad day. When you have a day like that you should have a protein shake with almond butter at night. That would have at least given you some more protein and fats. Get back on track today.

  35. Tracy, Not a great day. Protein low fats low carbs right on. You missed a container of protein, fats were around 16g for the day. I know you'll do better tomorrow.

    Please weigh yourself in first thing in the morning on your cheat meal day.

  36. Dawn you only have to consider the fish oil pills everything else will have no impact.Measure sunflower seeds great source of fat by the way. Another way to get additional fat is with yolks. 6 grams each yolk.
